Technical Integration

How Powerwall Integrates with Your Solar System

Powerwall works seamlessly with both new and existing solar installations, providing backup power and maximizing your solar energy usage.

AC-Coupled vs DC-Coupled Systems

AC-Coupled: Connects to AC electrical panel, works with any solar inverter. Perfect for retrofitting existing solar. Efficiency: 85–90%.

DC-Coupled: Connects to solar DC power before inversion. Higher efficiency (92–95%) for new installations.

Retrofit Installation for Existing Solar

AC coupling enables straightforward retrofit. Our NABCEP-certified team handles compatibility assessment, Tesla Gateway installation, critical loads panel setup, and system integration.

New Solar + Powerwall Installations

Combined installations enable optimized DC coupling, maximizing efficiency and incentive eligibility. Streamlines permitting process.

Powerwall Without Solar (Grid-Only)

Powerwall can charge from grid and provide backup power without solar. Ideal for time-of-use optimization and backup needs. Pairing with solar maximizes financial benefits.
