Expert Electrical Panel Upgrades in Milwaukee & Waukesha County

This is the upgrade we recommend most often for Milwaukee homes built before 1980. Your 100-amp service was fine when installed, but today's homes run more simultaneously: central air, multiple computers, kitchen appliances, charging devices. Upgrading to 200 amps gives you the capacity you need without worrying about tripping breakers.

If you're still buying fuses at the hardware store, it's time for an upgrade. Circuit breakers are safer, more convenient, and give you better protection against electrical fires. Many insurance companies won't even cover homes with active fuse boxes anymore, especially the old screw-in type.

Not all panel upgrades are about adding capacity. Sometimes you just need to replace an unsafe panel with a modern equivalent. Federal Pacific panels are notorious for breakers that don't trip when they should. We see these regularly in Milwaukee homes from the 1960s-80s, and they're worth replacing even if you're not increasing your service size.

Most residential homes don't need 300 or 400 amps, but larger properties sometimes do, especially if you're adding solar production, multiple EV chargers, a detached heated garage, and running commercial-grade kitchen equipment. We'll do a proper load calculation to determine if you actually need this level of service or if a 200-amp upgrade will suffice.

Many Milwaukee homeowners upgrade their panel specifically to add a generator later. We'll future-proof your installation so you're not paying twice when you're ready for backup power. If you're already planning a generator, we can coordinate the panel work with the transfer switch installation to save time and minimize disruption.
